GRAND LAKE, OK
OklaHomes Realty
Beginning as a vision of hydroelectric power that would help propel the Cherokee nation, as well as all of northeast Oklahoma, well into the 20th century and beyond, Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees became one of Oklahoma’s top recreational draws. With the completion of the dam in 1940 Grand Lake began to take shape, and as time went on, coupled with the completion of the Will Rogers Turnpike in 1957, Grand Lake started to gain momentum with the residents of Tulsa as a key weekend getaway locale. Today the lake hosts many fishing tournaments throughout the year and has even hosted the Super Bowl of bass fishing, the BassMaster Classic in both 2013 and 2016. Resting at the western edge of the Ozark Mountain Range, and with over 1,300 miles of shoreline, many of those miles dotted with spectacular homes, Grand Lake remains one of Oklahoma’s best places to kick back and relax during the summer months.
